Possible Avian Flu Pandemic

There is the possibility of an international Avian Flu Pandemic that could
kill hundreds of millions of people.
The reason why this particular genere of flu would be so deadly is that the
avian flu virus has had no prior human exposure. As a result, humans have
not developed any relevant immunity to this type of flu virus as is the case
with other types of flu virus.
Avian flu has been transmitted from birds to man.
The fear has been and is that the avian flu will mutate such that human to
human transmission will be accomplished establishing a vector and host
methodology which will produce a deadly pandemic.
If this occurs ( and I read about one occurence already), international
health organizations are ill prepared to take remedial or preventitive
measures.
I,also, read a report today, that WHO, the World Health Organization, states
that such pandemic WILL occurr.
Of course, all of the aforementioned are based upon scientific hypothesis
based upon circumstantial evidence and inductive reasoning.
However, as the assumption that these predictive warnings are
unsubstantiated is cleary false, the medical community must take all
reasonable steps to prepare for such pandemic, prevent it's spread and to
treat those who are infected with the virus.
To do otherwise would amount to gross (intentional and willful) negligence.

Wouldn't this be God's will? What's the point of having a God if, just once
in a while, he doesn't remind us of just how insignificant we are?
