It has been six years since I was in practice and recently became a
patient myself. Fortunately the investigation was successful in ruling
out heart disease and major vessel disease which affects siblings. I
quit smoking 31 years ago and attribute my condition to that. The
reason I retired though was because of minor memory loss; my advancing
to the Board of Healing Arts with this issue and my deciding to retire
was met with overwhelming approval. Now I spend about 14 hours a day on
the Internet and this is my first entry into a chatroom. Thanks.

Hello Doc,

I'm wondering if you are on statins.  You may or may not know that they can
produce memory loss, even to the point of amnesia.  I was at a natural
medicine conference last month in which one of the speakers was an MD in his
70s who works for NASA and had two bouts of memory loss due to Lipitor.  He
has a book out and a protocol for natural cholesterol lowering, as do I.

Much peace to you and gratitude for all those you have helped and will help,
Brother Bernard Seif (Catholic monk, clinical psychologist, naturopathic
doctor)
