Son is having surgery for 2 hernias in a couple of weeks.  Using a
laparascope.  Will be day surgery.  What will be the aftereffects?
Lots of pain? Little pain?  Just what?  Thanks for any info.

How old is he? How big are the hernias? Does he have hydrocele(s) too?

As is true of most surgery, recovery rates and pain vary widely from patient
to patient. A bilateral laparoscopic hernia repair generally hurts less than
a bilateral open hernia repair.
