The mosquito wouldn't know that until it had already bitten, and I doubt
they communicate to each other about where to get the tastiest blood.

There's a lot of individual variation in attractiveness to mosquitoes,
and some people, especially those who've been bitten repeatedly over a
period of weeks by the same local mosquito population, don't react much
to bites, so it's easy to see how such ideas get started.
