A lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois contends that the Defense Department's sponsorship violates the First Amendment because the Scouts require members to swear an oath of duty to God. ya know ....the ACLU oughta be lumped right in with the KKK, Fundamentalest Islam movement and the AMA. The ACLU is mostly a bunch of secular Jewish attorneys who don't have enough to occupy their time. Suing the government is a good use for them, as it keeps them from bothering me or others, and it occupies and annoys the government. Which, when not fighting off ACLU attorneys, is quite capable of doing a lot of nasty stuff with the too much money and time THEY have. Remember, the ACLU has no guns, tanks, bombs, or power to withhold money from your paycheck. Wasting venom on them is silly. SBH ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The ACLU wants to preserve the Bill of Rights, the FIRST 10 fundamental rights, aka the "First 10 amendments to the Constitution." This takes them (and us) into some strange and bizarre territories, such as defending the right of the KKK to have free speech. The reason for so many Jews in the ACLU is that the first group a fascist USA government would take out would be the Jews. Next would be the Socialists and Commies. COMMENT: A nice peice of PR work on the first ammendment, that, but when it comes to defense of the SECOND ammendment, you won't find the ACLU that jealous. The efficient thing for fascists to do in the US would be to simply round up the Socialists and Commies, period. The small number of Jews left after this would be the gun-toting rural kind who've probably spent way too much time in someplace like Israel where nobody is under the illusion that nations sue their way to world greatness. And whose view of the ultimate usefulness of the mouthy ACLU probably equates with mine. SBH ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know that I am oversimplifying the matter. Actually I don't see the Jews as a monolith but as a diverse lot who would rather fight among themselves more than with anyone else. They will sue each other in a heartbeat. I regularly read from the diaries of Joseph Goebbels because he had a world view that was daily replenished by dispatches from all over the globe. Sure he had irrational views of Jewry, and you have to suspend belief when he opines on "the Jewish problem." But the man is otherwise pretty interesting as a Germanic and as Hitler's most loyal comrade even after death. Ossama is in a similar category. David H ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` |
