Caffeine is known to produce more stomach acid. Does anybody know
exactly what properties in caffeine produces the stomach acid? Is it
the caffeine itself or something else within coffee or tea?
Or is it something common to all stimulants and not just caffeine? In
which case, would ephedrine, nicotine, dexedrine, ritalin, phentermine,
etc. all create more stomach acid as well?

They have some excellent info. about pH levels. I'm sure they could
explain better than I could since I have forgotten almost everything I
learned about pH levels while in boring college classes over 20 years ago.
