~ * The Warning Signs
Project ~ *
"Despite well-documented levels of emotional
And behavioral problems in the nation's youth,
Studies have repeatedly shown
That most youth with mental health problems
Are not identified
And do not receive needed care.
The main goal of this federally supported project
Is to develop key warning signs
Of children's mental health problems.
These signs were developed through scientific
Data analysis and through feedback
>From nationwide focus groups with parents,
Teachers, providers,
And adolescents."

Blog, or dog? Who knows.
But if you see my lost pup, please bring him home!
I got Leon a brand-new bone.

"Using these strategies,
CACMH is now undertaking many
exciting initiatives and programs that will fundamentally
change the way children's mental health is addressed
across the country by ~
* Identifying and recommending "best practices" in the field
of child mental health
* Educating and informing pediatricians, health providers,
families, policy-makers and legislators on the most
scientifically sound findings
* Advocating for the adoption of enlightened mental health
standards and teaching parents to advocate for their own
child's mental health care
* Providing training and technical assistance to help practitioners,
schools and communities perform early intervention and
implement research-supported practices
* Evaluating the effectiveness of these evidence-based assessment
and treatment strategies in real-world settings
Our mission is more vital now that it has ever been,
yet we cannot do it alone."
