Few of my friends (guys) who are working in the marketting field told
me a medical checkup they had before their employement. What surprised
me was: apart from the series of blood and urine test, they told me a
test where they're asked to fully strip down, lie on a bed and asked to
cough. I did Google to know what exactly the test is, but couldn't
succeed in getting the idea.

I'm curious to know: what this checkup is? what they're reading? why
this is important for marketting guys? TIA

p.s.: This is here in South India (English medicine system). Apologies
if this topic is OT here.

Looking for hernias?  No idea why marketing people would be particularly
at risk - not as if they do much heavy lifting!

 Thanks a lot.

I think, as their work is field work.

Hello,
I live in America so therefore don't know much about South India. I know
that in America, various companies and gov't agencies require newly hired
employees to pass a complete physical exam before they can start working.
If they fail to pass, they are not allowed to work. It's possible that
this is what happened in the case that you mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the reason behind the checkups.
But, I was wondering what they have to check by making the person naked
and asked him to cough. And now I understand that it's hernia checkup.
