Strep Throat

Since I'm bored and feel like crap, I have a question regarding strep
throat.

I started with pink eye, then had a few days of REALLY bad sinus
headaches.  Then I got this lump at the back of my throat and started
hawking up yellow gunk.  I had a fever between 99 and 101, chills, aches
and weakness with a general feeling of maliase or however you spell it.
So I went and got some anti-biotics (Biaxin XL) from the doc.

So it is four days later.  Now I have a sore throat in the upper part of
my throat, it's not the WORST pain I've ever felt, and my fever is still
here, albiet it breaks occasionally and has definately reduced ijn the
last day or so.  One side of my thrat has a white blister on it.

So, how long will I have to put up with this crap?  You guys and gals know
far more about this than I do.

I might add it hasn't helped that it is 900000000 degress and humid out
either.

I hate summer time...

You might want to ask the doctor who prescribed Biaxin. We don't know why he
prescribed it (was for strep throat, a sinus infection, pneumonia or
something else). We didn't examine you and we didn't get your full history.
Your doctor did.

I would say that if  you aren't feeling better by tomorrow, you should
probably give your doctor a call. If you have strep throat (and that's all),
you should have bene feeling better 2 or 3 days ago.

You just gave a nice description of the natural progression of a virus
infection. The Biaxin is doing absolutely nothing.

Yeah.  I had a follow-up yesterday with someone else, and that was their
conclusion as well.  The fever is pretty much gone completely, but I'm
still bothered by the sore throat.  She said I just pretty much have to
wait.
