I'm very concerned about my Mother, she has had unusal hair loss and now
has a sinkhole on the top of her scalp near her forehead which is sinking
in a bit as well.  She refuses to go to the doctor due to fear, does anyone
out there know what would cause her scalp to form a sinkhole?  She also
breaks out with a red rash on her forehead at times...I hope and pray that
someone will reply to this message.

Cancer invading the bone comes to mind.  You need to convince your mother to
see a doctor.  The sooner the better.

The same thing has come to my mind as well, because what she is
experiencing isn't normal and can't be good news.  I'm going to take her to
the Doctor even if I have to ambush her somehow, I'm so very worried about
her.

Yes, get her to a doctor.  A (plain) skull x-ray is also a good idea,
and further studies will probably be warranted afterwards.

Not all such "sinkholes" turn out to be cancerous, but they need to be
attended to.

Best,
