Stool problem

I have been having a problem lately. I'm not having stool during the
weekdays and I have it all on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). If it
happens that I have stool during the weekdays, after defecating, it
takes me a long time to wipe because not the entire stool is released.
For a long time I have been having hemorrhoids and sometimes I have
blood release but no abnormal pain. Is this serious, and what I should
do to get it back to normal? I have reported it to my doctor but he
said nothing.

You did not mention your age. I advise you to see your doctor and tell him
about the blood. It could be from the hemorrhoids but it also might be as
a result of colon cancer which is a very serious disease. The doctor can
do a test to determine whether or not you have color cancer. In mean time,
visit a health food store and buy some a natural product made by a company
called CleaseSmart. It contains substances that should help you. Their

Bowel habits vary a lot from person to person. However, bleeding per rectum
and a *change* in bowel habits are two things that suggest the possibility
of colon cancer. If you are older than about 25, your doctor should have
shown more concern and arranged a colonscopy.

HMc,
Great post--I agree with you. I forgot to tell tell the original poster to
drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. I recently heard a doctor on a
radio show state that people that don't drink 8 glasses or water per day
have lots of problems related to bowel movements and other problems. A
doctor told my sister that if she drank 8 glasses of water per day that
she would probably never have kidney problems.

Adequate hydration is one component in the prevention of constipation, but
by itself does nothing in the management of segmentation pressures in the
sigmoid colon (diverticulosis). Likewise, adequate hydration via 8 glasses
of water per day can take some of the load off the kidneys. However, the
concept behind the radio-doctor's statements relative to "lots of bowel
problems" and "never have kidney problems" is pretty overstated.

Thank you for the responses. I am 51 year old and I didn't mention
that most of the time when I am having a stool I have to stay longer on
the sit and my rectums (left side) pops out (quite a big bubble) and
when it did happen first time I end up in the emergency room and doctor
pushed it back. I have heard that hot water (Jacuzzi) is good for it,
and I have been going to Jacuzzi every second day since then, but I am
still having that problem. I have to push it back almost every time
I've had a stool, and I feel uncomfortable for some time after that. It
could be one of the reasons why I am withholding the stool

That additional bit of history makes it all the more unconscionable that a
colonoscopy wasn't arranged. Unless you've had one in the last couple of
years, your doctor really dropped the ball.

John,
You should have mentioned this information in your original post. It's
obvious that your bowel problems are directly related to the problem
mentioned above. Until your doctor or doctors are able to solve this
problem--it's my guess that you will continue to have problems with your
bowel movements. You should ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist.
A protologist is a doctor that specializes in anal problems.

Jason, if a doctor responds to a post here, or ANYONE that's more
knowledgeable than you on a given medical subject...why do you feel obliged
to chime in? Your advice on this and other subjects is lame, incomplete and
in most cases just plain wrong.

You should not post medical advice here. Some posters may not understand
that you don't know what you're talking about.

No offense meant.

John,
I wanted to add that I would met an older man (probably at least 65 years
old) that was not allowed to eat any regular food. He had to eat baby food
and drink little cans of special food that you can buy in a drug store. I
don't remember the brand name of the little cans. I once purchased 6 cans
and tried them. It tasted like a chocolate milk shake. It had lots of
vitimins mixed in the drink. You might want to ask your doctor if you
should use such a diet until your problem is solved by a specialist.
