Mostly, not good. Never ever get manipulated above the shoulders.
Go to the anti-quacker webring and do a search on chiropractic:
http://g.webring.com/hub?ring=antiquackerysite
Neck manipulations are a *very* dangerous practise, and there have been
several lawsuits for injury and death caused by chiropractors doing
this. It is *not* a recommended, or evidence based method of treatment.
My advice: run. A chiropractor is not a medically trained person, no
matter what they tell you.
If you want an informed assessement and treatment of your muscle and
spine conditions please see your physician, then a physio. Physios are
trained in medical schools. Chiropractors are not. Look in your yellow
pages, or call the nearest university faculty of medicine or medical
school department of rehabilitation, or do a google for the
physiotherapy professional association, and ask for a recommendation
for three physios who practise "active therapy" in your area. That
means you do the work, under their direction. It's the only way to
achieve result without injury, and to learn to handle this problem
yourself, for life.

Do a search for "chiropractor" and "vertebral artery".
This will explain why neck manipulations are not entirely benign.
Avoid neck manipulations. (Unless it is the ONLY procedure that helps.
Make sure the stroke risk is worth it to you. Sometimes relieving the agony
of pain means taking risks. However, I hope to hear that your Chiro has
explained the risk to you.)
If not, find another Chiro./Physio.
