I was somewhat surprised to see Dr.House, in a recent episode, suggest to
one of his women patients that she buy some condoms and pick up men in
bars to take the load off her husband who was taking prescriptions to lower
his blood pressure. In the episode in question, House figured out that the
husband had been slipping some of the medicine into her food in the hopes
of attenuating her sex drive. I figured that this was just the arrogant and
egotistical Dr.House's way, but recently I've heard of GPs in real life
recommending to certain of their patients that they have extramarital affairs.
So, now I'm starting to wonder whether this represents the cutting edge of
clinical practice or whether this is crossing the line.

Crossing the line in the U.S. for sure. Maybe not in France.
