Hi I drink about 700~1000cc of water within a 30 minutes interval
first thing in the morning, and within the next 2 hours I'll usually
need to visit the bathroom 3~4 times (without consuming more water).
Is that too frequent and if so do I need to do a medical check and if
so what kind of check?

Thanks.

The human bladder holds around 300-500 cc of urine. Having to pee 3 or 4
times means you are passing something like 900-2000 cc of urine (the amount
of urine you pass at once depends on various factors, like how fast the
bladder is filling up). In addition, the brain produces a hormone the
decreases the amount of urine you make overnight, so it is normal to make a
little more urine in the morning.

So this is comletely normal.

Depend on how old you are and if you drink coffee or how frequent you
visit the bathroom at night or if you consume a lot of alcohol in
previous day. I suggest to talk to your doc. The gland releases certain
hormone (vasopressin) to regulate fluid in the body. The amount of
water you take is more than normal.

Nick,
You need to repost and tell us your age. We also need to know whether or
not you wake up in the middle of the night and have to urinate. If you are
over 50, I advise you to visit a doctor and have a protrate exam. Also,
ask your doctor to give you a blood test that will indicate whether or not
you are having protrate problems. If you are still very young--it's
unlikely that the problem that you are having is unrelated to prostate
problems. In fact--it's probably nothing to worry about. Did you hear
about the Indian that drank a thousand gallons of tea in one day? Thay
found him dead the following morning in his tea pee.

Hi thanks to all replied. Yeah I definitely forgot to mention a few
other things. I'm 26, rarely drink alcohol, occasionally coffee, and
can't remember the last time I woke up at night for bathroom. Also I
did 2 blood and urine tests within the last 6 months both saying all is
normal. BTW never heard of the Indian weirdo :)

Hello,
Disregard what I told you about prostate cancer. Research has showed that
the vast majority of people that have prostrate cancer or prostate related
problems are over 50 years old. I don't think that you have problems. It's
normal to urinate more than normal after drinking lots of water or tea.
There used to be some sort of poem--it went something like this:
The more tea in thee--the more you pee.
I guess this poem was more common several hundred years ago since I rarely
ever hear anyone making use of the word "thee" today unless they are
preachers reading the oringinal King James Bible. However, the message in
the poem is still true today--and it also applies to water
"the more water in thee--the more you pee.
but it does not ryme.

Do you take any meds, pills or use coffee/pop/caffeine?
Are you overweight?
Any health problems?

No I don't take any medication. I rarely drink alcohol, and only
occasionally coffee, and I'm not only not overweight, I'm a bit
underweight (168cm@~60kg). I also did 2 blood and urine tests within
the last 6 months both saying all is normal.

I don't think you have a problem and your kidneys are working perfectly
normal. if you are concerned, you should talk with your doctor.

Better still have the doctor refer you to a nephrologist.

He's had two normal blood and urine tests, and you think he should see a
specialist because he's urinating a lot after drinking a lot of water?
Why?
