Prostatitis and Reiter's Syndrome

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with prostatitis in January. I was put on a 6 week
course of doxycycline which seemed to help alleviate the symptoms, but
now they've returned.

Two months ago my right knee started failing on me. I can't recall
injuring it at any stage. I would start walking down steps and after
5-or-so steps my right knee would collapse in agony. I've never
experienced this before, and the knee still hasn't improved. I also
have red, patchy skin in some areas.

I was reading about Reiter's Syndrome, and how it is often misdiagnosed
as prostatitis, and it made me wonder whether I actually am
experiencing this syndrome.

How closely related are these two conditions?

Is it very easy for a GP to diagnose?

Does anyone here have any experience with Reiter's Syndrome?

I'm travelling around Europe for the next three months, so I don't have
a regular/reliable GP to see.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Paul
