I need all the help i can get. For 2 years i had this problems:
1. Erosion of esophagus, I can eat only soft food and in small
portions.
2. Pain on my left side, it seems like heart pain but ECG is normal.
Upper GI is normal now( had abrasionslast year), also CT scan is
normal.
3. Bloating, can not wear anything which is remotely tight.
4. Constipation
After I eat I have difficaulties breezing and dull pain under my left
rib cage. After several burps it lessens.
This constant pain really bothers me. The doctors can not find anything
wrong. In last 2 years I had 2 colonoscopies with normal results.
Also I had 2 acute attacks in last 6 month. The same problem.
So this is my last resort. I am trying to educate myself and find some
other resourses to help myself.
My hope is that some of you know how to deal with these problems.

Ask your family doctor to refer you to a specialist that treats problems
like the one that you have. I can only guess that the specialist will
arrange for you to drink a solution and stand in front of an x-ray
machine. The x-rays should reveal any problems. It's similar to the test
used to determine if you ulcers.

Do you have a large hiatal hernia? A hiatal hernia is
an internal hernia that is a rupture of the diaphram
such that the part of the stomach is in tha cavity
that contains the heart and lungs. It is a risk factor
a esophagitis and might cause some of your other
problems.

Just my first guess..............JQ

John,
Appears to me to be a great guess. I just checked my medical book and some
of the things that were stated such as heartburn, belching are  listed
under "signs and symtoms of Hiatal Hernia". The article also says that the
risk increases if the patient is a smoker or has obesity.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I do not know. Would a CT scan
show hiatal hernia?
Last night I had very strong pain, could not sleep or lie down till the
wee hours of the morning. Talked today to my gastroenterologistbut he
did not give me any answers just told me to come see him.
Any other tests I can do?
And to answer questions about smoking: I am 56 years old nonsmoking
woman and my weight is 134 pounds. So I am not obese.

I have a similar problem and many more Im afaid. The area you are
referring to would be in the spleen area. The spleen gets inflamed,
enlarged etc usually due to a problem elsewhere. I understand an
ultrasound can check this out a bit also. Best wishes, its no fun.

I have a medical book and it discussed this problem and even shows
diagrams of the surgery. The doctor that does the surgery has probably
done hundreds of these same types of surgery since it's a common problem.
You should not be afraid. After a couple of months--your life will be back
to normal. Look at the bright side--it's not like a case of cancer that
has already spread throughout you body--that would make anyone afraid.
Just pray and ask your family members and Christian friends to pray for
you.

Thank you for your responce.
I had an ultrasound and it was normal. Last week I started fasting
(first time in my life) and did it for 4 days.
The pain was gone on the second day but I am sure it will come back. It
was very good not to have it.
Did you find the problem in your case?

You mentioned Erosion of the Esophaghus so maybe you have done this but my
husband had an EDG and that showed the Erosion. I was told it would also show
the Hiatal Hernia.

My husband just went through 2 months of the same sort of pain and is now
taking Nexium.
