The body temperature varies thoughout the day. The mean body temperature is
98.2 F, not 98.6.
(http://www.amstat.org/publications/jse/v4n2/datasets.shoemaker.html). The
orginal temperature was converted to C and rounded up to 37 C (from 36.8 C).
The mean means average. there will be perfectly normal temperatures above
that and below that.
The axillary temperatue is usually lower than the oral temperature by a
degree or so.
So it sounds like your temperature is totally normal. Rarely are low body
temperatures significant.
If you have symptoms that concern you, you should be checked out by a
doctor. Your axillary temperature is basically normal and nothing to worry
about.

Actually, it was 96.43 first thing in the morning, 97 during the day,
and now 99 at supper time. Thanks for the info and link, I'll try oral
multiple times for a few days and see if the averages are near 98.2.
