I think we should let go when the brain is gone , as in severe
dementia or brain damage . Time magazine shows that almost all of
Terry's brain is replaced by fluid in a ct scan.
A head injury brain may recover but not an oxygen starved one.

Among Jains there is tradition of starving onself to death, Gujarati
word for that is 'santhaaro'.

Terry may have not felt distress at not being given even water, but how
can one make certain in severe
dementia or brain damage  cases that there will be no distress?

If a person is set to die would it not be better for everyone that the
person is put to death as quickly but painlessly to death?

She was allowed to die the way the law allows.  It couldn't have been done any
other way.
