Question... My GP took a reflex rubber hammer and hit the underside of my
wrists close to where my hands connect to the wrist..he hit a nerve and it
made my jump.. in both hands.. and my finders tingled..
Is this a symptom of carpal tunnel... I had told him that my fingers were
cold and that when I sleep I bend my wrists under my body.

thank you, Ken

What your doctor did was to elicit a "Tinel sign", a test to see if a
nerve is hypersensitive.  Nerves which are being compressed usually
have this finding, and a carpal tunnel syndrome seems possible.  There
are other tests, however, to confirm the diagnosis.

Your GP should send you to a specialist (a neurosurgeon or a hand
surgeon).

Best,

Bob
