how many days should I discontinue my iron supplement before starting
to take samples for the occult blood test?

What are you having the test for? Testing for occult blood is one of the
most useless tests around. Depending on your problem there might be a much
better test. I had the same issue with occult blood testing. It ended up
being cancer, and thank goodness someone here put me on a more direct and
faster track to get the results.
