Dear Friends, Family, Acquaintances, Associates, Theirs and the Blessed
beyond,

This is a desperate plea for critical private charitable assistance.
I have a dear friend Carole, who, to make a  long story VERY short, is
living  the most purely tragic medical nightmare of which you may ever
learn. 8 years ago she developed a severe brain tumor. At the time she
was a highly successful, beautiful, photographer, and teacher. As if
getting a brain tumor that went misdiagnosed for two years was not
enough trauma, other subsequent medical errors have lead to her
suffering from brittle bone syndrome, causing various broken limbs, two
more bouts with other cancers, removal of her large intestine, and now
confinement to an electric wheelchair along with the most excruciating
debilitating pain one might imagine. She now requires more medications
in a week than most people take their entire long lives. She is 49.
The real problem today is that due to financial hardship and a few
onerous bank charges for checking errors, her $1000 disability checks
have been suspended due to the "good intentions" of a Social
Security Administrator.  Her February check will not be forthcoming and
she has no idea how she will make her co-payments for vital pain
medications, her coming February rent, and utility bills. To add insult
to injury her car battery failed yesterday and she is already overdrawn
at two banks from trying to keep up honestly with her bills If she does
not get some needed funds she will be put out on the street by mid
March and will lose all her worldly possessions as she has no other
family support. This all could happen to you, me, or anyone you know,
at any time, given some bad luck and the negligence of others.
I have been able to help her with some money but I cannot do enough to
solve her short term dilemma. She needs a car battery, money for
critical medications, rent, and utilities until her disability checks
are recovered and the other charges are cleared up.
If you ever really wanted to help someone in the most dire of straights
imaginable you can help her directly, from you to her without any
government, charitable, or Aid Organization middlemen taking a big cut.
There is no other way I can think of to help now. Imagine if it were
you.
ANYTHING WILL HELP! $2.00, $5.00, $10.00 or more.....
If only 150 people send her $10.00 this will hopefully bridge the gap
until her checks are reinstated in March. She needs $25 for pain meds
Tuesday. She has many, many of these co-pays monthly.
Please consider this a personal plea for someone who cannot even ask
you for themselves, and has met with more unimaginable hardship due to
the mistakes of others than anyone you or I will ever meet in ours'
or our children's lives. She has no one.
Please, please, please, please help with anything as soon as possible.
You will never get a better chance to really feel you are helping
someone innocent and truly in terrible need.
For more information or to speak with me, Carole, or her Dr.s  directly
you can email me at
jw54sb@yahoo.com  and I/she will contact you. Please forward this
letter and plea to any compassionate people you feel may help and to
those who think they have a rough life.
You can send stamps, cash, money orders, or checks to:

Well, it's just too bad that there are so many con artists and thieves
in the world, because were this a better place, people might believe
this is real (regardless of whether it is or not). Unfortunately, my
cynicism says this is far more likely to be a scam. There are other
ways to get help than by begging on the Usenet, I'm sure.

Unfortunately, you're right.

Someone actually succeeded with the first plea of this sort on Usenet.  I
don't recall who it was, but it was just a couple of years ago and since
then I've seen dozens of them.  I ignore them all.

And then another guy bypassed the normal donor process and got himself a
liver by buying billboards.  Not sure who died for lack of that liver, but
now it's been tried again -- and it succeeded again.

I guess the message is if you're clever enough and can afford billboards,
you get to go to the front of the line regardless of whether you deserve it.

My sympathies, but take your place in line.  You'll get no money from me
this way, and you shouldn't get money from anyone else either.
