I'm 23 years old and was diagnosed with IBS about 3 years ago. From the
age of 14 on I've gotten terrible stomach cramping pains after eating
certain foods and sometimes after eating anything in general. The pains
became more frequent by the time I reached 19. These pains could best
be described as feeling a dull ache in my abomen that will become
increasingly more painful until severe muscle cramping sets in my
abdomen followed by tighness and pain in my chest and feeling shortness
of breath followed by vomiting. The pain can last for hours and I
pretty much have a feeling of delerium when it happens unable to do
anything but pace around in extreme pain. The only bit of relief I get
is hoping in the shower followed by a bath while drinking a large
amount of ice water and vomiting all while panicing that I am going
into shock from the pain.

I've been to the ER a couple of times for these pains and have never
gotten a full diagnoses besides being told it was IBS. For around the
last few months I've had a dull ache in the right side of my abdomen
under my lowest rib. I've had to give up all dairy products because
they trigger the immense pain I've described above. Pizza seems to be
the biggest trigger although a few times I've been able to eat it
without pain but since the last attack I've sworn to never eat it
again. I was hoping it was just a dairy allergy but it doesn't run in
the family and just the other day a chunky peanut butter spread caused
another bout. Right now I'm eating a heathly diet, I drink rice milk,
have no dairy, take omega oils ect. and it seems to help quite a bit, I
almost thought I had it beat until the peanut butter spread bout.

Right now I am self employed, not making a whole lot of money and have
no medical insurance. I believe that I may have gall stones or some
kind of gall bladder problems but can't be sure since I don't have the
money to have the tests. Would it be possible these symptoms I've
described above could all be related to my gall bladder for this amount
of time even though I've only had the gall bladder pain the past few
months? Would there be any serious harmful repricussions if I just try
and wait out the pain? I'm not sure what other choices I have.

Yes, your symptoms could be many different things, including gallbladder,
IBS, peptic ulcer disease, GERD. All of these things tend to have the
potential for serious repercussions. It needs to be investigated - I'd
suggest investigating public assistance programs in your state.
