I found the following information in an article on Daily News Central,
"New Weight-Loss 'Miracle Drug' Offers Tantalizing Possibilities":
Patients treated with rimonabant 20mg for two years experienced a
reduction in body weight and in waist circumference, demonstrating a
significant reduction in abdominal fat, a key marker for cardiovascular
disease, the study found. Patients treated with rimonabant 20mg over
the two year period also achieved a significant increase in
HDL-cholesterol (good cholesterol), a reduction in triglycerides and an
improvement in insulin sensitivity.

Does anyone know of any calls for participants in trials involving this
drug? I would be very interested in any information, pro or con.
Thanks --

Yah, I'm sure there will be an infomercial out any day now hawking this
drug.
Seriously, take note that Phen-Fen had gone through a rigorous series of
trials too, as did Vioxx, Propulsid, and virtually every other
pharmaceutical product that's been recalled in the last 15 years.
