Hospital Administrative and  Medical Staff structures vary widely from
hospital to hospital. The duties and responsibilities of a "Director of
Medicine" at one hospital may be completely different from the same position
at another hospital. There is no universal answer to your question. Your
best solution is for you to call someone in Administration at the hospital
in question and ask them.
