Scam.
If "the hand can be used freely" you're not getting proper carpal
tunnel splinting. See an occupational therapist assocated with a hand
clinic (university medical schools) and you'll get a carpal tunnel
splint made for you on your hand, wrist and arm. The splint should
extend almost to the elbow, and will immobilized your hand and wrist
when it's worn. In some cases the splint will envelope the thumb,
because the extensor tendon is often involved.
A carpal tunnel splint may be worn 24 hours a day initially per your
therapist's instructions, and then worn only at night.
You will be doing specific stretching and strengthening exercises when
appropriate.

Daniel we would have to know *exactly* what your problem is to know if
this was a proper splint for you.
Do you wear eyeglasses? Would you wear anyone's eyeglasses? That is
what this splint is: anyone's splint. Worse than useless, it could
injure you.
Ask a physician or physiotherapist to examine you and make a referral
to a rehabilitaton specialist who makes splints.
