Dear all,

It seems all ultrasound imaging systems make use of phased array with
short pulses. I am curious to know if any application makes use of
array with continuous waves in ultrasound.

Thanks.

Continuous waves are useful to sort out aliasing that could be
problematic with pulsed waves.

You are welcome, Steve.  All praises belong to my heavenly Father, Whom I

Thanks, Andrew,

From the reading on ultrasound medical, the pulse echo imaging with a
phased array is widely used. I have a few questions

1. in pulse echo imaging, how to control the transmit focal length
using an array? using composite transmit focus technique, several
sweeps are used to generate a complete image.

2. I noticed CWs are used in doppler ultrasound and a single element
seems can do the job. Have you ever heard any array in this kind of
applications? On the 'sort out aliasing', could it be more specific?

Steve.

I believe the transmit focal length is fixed for an array.

I've seen arrays used in 2D doppler applications in CW mode to remove
aliasing artifacts.
