Very fuzzy hearing

My hearing seems to have become very dull over a few years.
If I hold my nose and blow it, momentarily it clears and I can hear higher
frequencies and more clearly but within a few seconds they kind of close up
again.
This is permanent and nothing to do with a cold
I have seen three differnet doctors over the years and all have said there
appears to be nothing wrong from a visual inspection.  All were reluctant to
carry out any further investigations.
Have tried having them syringed and this worked fine the first few times but
after a while it lost its effect.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You may have a eustachian tube problem. An otolaryngologist should be able to
diagnose that, though.
