Hi,
1/ Is it true that 50mg (or is it 5mg??) Trazolan (Trazodone) helps as
sleeping aid, even somehow improving the quality of sleep?! Is it
something you only have to take for a certain time or is it something
that you will need to keep taking in order for it to keep working. How
long does it take before you see any improvements and if you stop taking
it, do the sleeping problems return or not?!
2/ Also, is it true that Trazolan, even at only 50mg, can give
"priaprism" as side-effect? Is it true that priapism is an erection that
won't go away and sometimes needs surgery?
Now, what I really would like to know is if priapism with 50mg Trazolan
could occur at any given time, so even if you don't have it the first
night you take it, there still is a change that someday I could wake up
having this problem, or can I be 100% reassured that if it doesn't
happen the first night, it will never happen later on (ofcourse staying
at 50mg)?! Anybody (who is a physician) knows more about this?!! Should
I worry about this at 50mg?
3/ also, is is true that even at 50mg you get a stuffy nose as
side-effect? How worse is it? I read somewhere that it occurs 1 hour
after you take it and then goes away after another hour? Is this true?
If so, how can you know this if you're asleep? Isn't it so that my nose
will be stuffy all night long, so I will notice it when I wake up? How
exactly is that at 50mg?!
4/ final question: I always mentioned 50mg. Is 50mg the recommended
dosage or is it 5mg cause I also read this somtimes. I thought 50mg was
the minimum dosage, not?!
Thanks very much to anybody who can help with the above questions?! Are
there any physicians here who can speak from experience?!
Cheers, Mike.

Sedatives (and alcohol) can make some sleep conditions worse. (eg in sleep
apnea it helps the throat close up even moreso.)
Many of the so-called "safe" drugs (Ambien/zolpidem; Imovane/zopiclone)
are becoming addictive for people.
I heard of a man who was up to 40 Imovane per day.
If you have to take drugs to sleep, you should be having a sleep clinic
study.
Enough of covering up symptoms with drugs.
