Hi there,
I hope someone out there is willing to give me an opinion. My elderly
father got really sick with the flu last year and was hospitalized. I
encouraged him to get a flu shot and he did. He went to Kroger and
the pharmacist did it. The problem is she gave him the injection
almost in the shoulder joint. It looks too high to be hitting the
deltoid muscle. I had him lift his arm and it is only like a half
inch below the joint. He did say his arm was sore for one day. Do
you think he is vaccinated properly? These pharmacists are not nurses
so I don't trust them as much.
Thanks a million.

The deltoid muscle drapes over the shoulder from higher up so it is
still possible to give the shot intramuscularly even if it seems high
up.
