Hiyas,
First, thanks for the info on the thrush. It's actually getting much better!
I finished up my last dose of Flagyl and so things are starting to even out
now. Hopefully my body will get back on track... My doc has been great in
educating me on Diverticulitis!
Here's my next question....
Since my stay in the hospital between 9/10 and 9/13, I've recovered pretty
well. slowly but surely moving from a soft diet to regular bland. I'm making
progress! YAY! But because of the IV's in the hospital, they infiltrated my
veins in my right hand. The unfortunate thing is that it appears that as an
added complication, I have developed soreness, heat and veins that are
relatively "hard" to palpate. Since I'm a phlebotomist myself, (it came when
I got my medical assistant training) I just get the feeling that something's
"not right" in my arm. So I continued to feel along my arm and came across
what feels like a small "string of beads" or "pea-shaped" bumps. what is the
liklihood that these are blood clots vs. scar tissue? Aside from an
anti-embolism sleeve, heat and cold compresses, what else can I do? I'm
apparently not allowed to have aspirin or blood thinners because of the
Diverticulitis, which really stinks!

Sounds like superficial phlebitis. Common complication following IVs.
Not serious.

Warm compresses may help.

Superficial thrombophlebitis, as Griffin said.
I can't think of a reason you wouldn't be able to take NSAIDS. I'd recommend
ibuprofen, warm compresses, time, patience. I also don't understand what the
anti-embolism sleeve is for.
