How to get enough sun for good vitamin D status in the cold winter months
when any skin exposed is skin frozen?

Also, I do not like vitamin D supplementation much because I fear permanent
calcification, especially around the heart.

Your fear of reasonable vitamin D supplementation is unreasonable.
In a person not getting sun, 4000 IU per day is a reasonable dose.
This will prevent the winter time elevation of parathyroid hormone
which likely can increase chances of your feared problem.
Further, a vitamin K supplement of at least a milligram per
day who do much to prevent ectopic calcification.

In some countries, Vitamin K is not available unless by prescription for
blood coagulation treatment. I happen to live in such a communism.

Not an issue in southern US (Frostbite that is) but what about sitting by a
window exposed directly to the sun. We did that with my son when he first
came home to help with the belirubin (jaundice).

You may wish to eat plenty of fatty fish.  Wild Alaskan salmon appears
to be the least polluted and free of mercury and other toxins.  Also,
you may wish to consider a fish oil supplement.  Another option to
consider is a full spectrum light bulb.  This supposedly provides
close to the equivalent of natural outdoor sunlight.  A few minutes
daily throughout the fall and winter should help your body provide
adequate vitamin D.  Good luck to you.

Some vitamin D information:

A full spectrum light bulb???
Hey, I always use 6400 K bulbs throughout my house in the winter because
it helps me to avoid depression. Does that mean I'm also making more
vitamin D?
I seldom go outside during the winter, except to drive to work.
