Hi,

I had my blood tested because of the following symptoms:

Dizziness, tingling in the arms and feet, fatigue, headaches,
breathlessness and nausea.  I had a recent CBC performed and
everything was normal except:

MCV was low at 72 and RBC was high at 5.8.  My SGPT was also 100.

If anyone can help, it would be truly appreciated.  One doc told me I
was iron deficient but another told me I had thalassemia and
instructed me to avoid iron supplements.  I feel less fatigued with
the iron supplements but all other symptoms persist.  Any help would
be truly appreciated!!!

There are diagnostic tests for both (though at least one kind of
thalassemia can't be diagnosed in iron deficient subjects, so iron has
to be repleted first, if that's a problem).

See a hematologist. We can't test your blood over the internet.
