Chronic low grade fever

I have been having trouble since December. About every month or two I
start getting chills and feeling as if I have the flu. I get a 99 to
100 degree temperature. This comes and goes for a day or two then goes
away. This does not make sense but it seems like every time I get sick
it comes after working hard on a project either outside or sometimes
inside the house.

This all started after having the full blown flu around Christmas for
several days. Since then I have had these low grade fevers and chills
just about each month. I am usually not prone to being sick and no one
else in my family gets these things.

Are there any tests I should ask for? I have had a normal CBC during
this time.

Thanks!

I had mononucleosis many years ago and was extremely ill from it. After I
was recovered, I got low grade fevers every afternoon. It was awful. A few
times I went to our company medical doctor and had them take my temperature
and it would be even higher than 99-100, hitting 101+. It had a tremondous
impact on my life. After 7 (!!) years of this with no doctor able to provide
an explanation, I got a very bad bacteria infection that sent my temperature
to 104. Interestingly, after the illness subsided, those daily low grade
fevers never returned. I suspect I had a virus, maybe lingering mono? that
was finally killed with the higher fever. So, maybe you should get tested
for mono. Those fevers were so predictable and regular that my boss and I
used to refer to them as malaria attacks. Good luck.

I am not a doctor.
