I had surgery three weeks ago, and after six days in the hospital, have been
home almost two weeks. In the sugeons words, i had a good surgery, but still
don't feel very well. i am walking three times a day for a distance of one
block. I'm still sore, have no appetite, and generally feel lousy. i see the
surgeon next week, but i was wondering if any of you have advice for me.
Thanks.

Be patient. Surgery qualifies as a "big deal", especially abdominal
surgery, like yours. It takes a lot of your body's energy to heal and
recuperate. Give it time. You didn't say how old you were or what kind
of shape you were in prior to surgery, but generally speaking, the
older and less healthy a person is, the longer they'll take to bouce
back after an operation.

Thanks for your reply. Your advice was helpful. i think that i was expecting
too much in the way of a quick recovery. Thanks again.
