Can anyone tell me if epinephrine is added to the local anesthetic if a vulva biopsy is done under straight local? Thanks in advance for any answers. Thanks in advance for any answers. It was done in the late 90's but I'm trying to find out almost with certainty whether or not the local injection would have included epinephrine. The doctor no longer has my records. The procedure was done in the doctor's office and no cautery was used if that's of any help. Thanks for answering. In fact I had a breast biopsy in 1981 and the vulva biopsy in the early to mid 90's and neither office can find any records on me. Best I can do to try to assess my possible past with epinephrine is to talk to the doctor/office person to determine whether or not the doctor used epinephrine with the type of procedure around that time period and if not, in which cases not. I'm waiting for both doctor's offices to call but I'm not optimistic about hearing from either. Therefore, I'm trying to get a general consensus on whether or not epinephrine would have been used with these procedures on a patient with no known contraindications for epinephrine. Thanks for replying. Sherry that is a question you need to ask the person who is injecting. Epinephrine used to be included in the local anesthetic for dental work but my dentist told me that is not now always the case. You need to ask.
