Saphenous vein reflux

My HUMANA health plan paid for sonograms of my
left and right greater saphenous veins.  The vein in
the left leg recorded reflux.

Please explain why I should have ablation of this
vein. I read somewhere that this vein is redundant and
can be removed for use in other organs.

Ablation functionally removes the vein.  I assume "reflux" implies you
have varicosities.  Is there pain?
The fact that you can do without it means that perhaps you should, if
you are in pain, at risk for thrombosis, etc.

Thank you.  Your reply is helpful.  There has been little pain,
and I need to read more about saphenous vein reflux before going
for ablation which HUMANA will pay for.
