(1) What is the significance of Alt = 565, AP = 965, Bil = 76?
(2) Can liver malfunction causing itchiness?

But you see, I can believe a thing without understanding it.
It's all a matter of training.

1) These are values for liver function tests. Alt= alanine
aminotransferase, AP=Alkaline phosphatase, Bil= bilirubin.
These values should always be stated with the laboratory normals, to
see if you are in or out of the normal range.

2) Itching is a common problem with cholestatic liver disease:

As was mentioned by the other poster reference ranges are important
especially with numbers without units attached to them. Different
countries use different units and thus a 76 involving units of mg/dl
would almost be impossible to obtain. I presume the 76 relates to
micromoles/l in which case the upper limit of normal would be 20.
An elevated Alk =AP would indicate cholestasis which is equivalent to
liver congestion. Chemicals may spill out into circulation because of
that congestion and become elevated. Some of those chemicals can cause
one to itch. The old theories related to bile salts as the cause of
such itching have come into question. It appears that they and of
themselves are not the source. In any case any diagnostic workup
involving itching, pruritus involves bile salt analysis as a marker of
cholestasis.
