I am looking for info related to: rare disease - toxicology -
Parkinson disease - immune system - neurology - internal medicine. Is
this right place?

My father hospitalized in one of eastern European country was
diagnosed with very rare disease. He is 79. As I was told there is
only one case like this known in the world. It was somewhere in the
USA. The symptoms were triggered by pneumonia which started 4 months
ago. After pneumonia was cured his immune system is being destroyed by
antibodies produced by his own organism. Also suddenly Parkinson
Disease (or parkinsonism) appeared in its very late stage (something
like it was already present in his body for 15 years). The patient is
very week physically and his mental condition is also being destroyed
or it is caused by tiredness. Lately I got information, that high
level of infection and pneumonia came back. It was 3 days ago.

How likely is this? I am not a doctor, but I remember one medical TV
"Reality Zone" program as they said, that in case of unknown diseases,
such symptoms most likely cause toxins and it should be checked at
first. Could that be true?

Did anyone met or heard about the case like this? I would very
appreciate any help on this subject.

Could also anyone let me know where professionals look for information
on rare disease cases? Is there any world's professional data base or
knowledge base existent?

Pneumonia is common in the elderly.
I'm sorry about your father's Parkinson's.
What is the name of the rare disease he's been diagnosed with and/or the
names of the antibodies, please?
I may be able to find you reliable source of information(s) on it.

I do not know answers to this questions yet. I will try to get the
answer as soon as possible. I thought there is no name for the disease
if there was only one case known before, but I will ask for it now.

Thanks for reply. I very appreciate it.
