Hi,
There are plenty articles on the benefit of taking omega-3 fatty acid (fish
oil).

Is there any report that long term consumption of omega-3 fatty acid (2 fish
oil capsules per day) resulted to Fatty Liver or other adversed effect?

These capsules usually contain one gram of fat.  Many North Americans
eat more than 100 grams of fat daily, and nutritionists recommend that
no more than 30% of calories come from fat.  In a 2000 calorie per
day diet, that would be about 65 grams of fat.  It's probably healthier
to get about 20% of calories from fat, which is about 45 grams of fat
per day, and it's best if most of the fat is unsaturated.

So the amount of fat in one or two capsules is insignificant, and the
quality of the fat is high compared to most common sources.  The amount
of desirable fatty acids in a capsule is comparable to that of a can
of water-packed sardines, so 1-2 capsules is a quantity that could be
readily consumed in a healthy diet high in fish, and not at all a
disproportionate amount.

I.e. you don't have to worry about fatty liver from a few fish oil
capsules.

Btw, I've noticed that when I take 1-2 fish oil capsules daily I have
less craving or appetite for high fat foods, or at any rate, such
goodies are easier to resist.  While it's conceivable that an appetite
for fat is your body's way of telling you it needs more essential
fatty acids, I wouldn't make such a claim without real evidence.
Even if it's all psychological, the ability to resist pastries etc,
is helpful for people who are trying to lose or maintain weight or
just to eat a healthier diet.  I'm not claiming it will work for
anybody else, of course!

I have no formal credentials in medicine or nutrition.
