I've posted to alt.support.headaches.migraine recently (thinking my
main problem was tension headaches) :

I still think I have a combination of tension+migraine headaches, but
I have other symptoms that sound like Chiari too (scoliosis, tingling,
dizziness, blurred vision, weak arms, fatigue, etc.).
Does that X-ray look like I have chiari? I had to persuade my
chiropractor's receptionist to let me borrow it (she kept saying "but
you don't know how to read xrays"). She was right, but to my
untrained eye my brain stem looks a bit low (the lower line indicates
brain stem, upper line indicates the skull I believe... chiropractor
must have drawn these lines on the xray).
My GP (a pretty useless one) refused to give my neck an MRI last time
I begged him (3 weeks ago). But with this X-ray, maybe I can persuade
him to give me one.
Thanks for any help.
[Sorry for posting to several newsgroups, as I am not sure which one
was the best place to ask about Chiari.. also I posted twice before
but it didn't seem to go through so please don't get angry if you
suddenly also see those two posts appear]

Nevermind, the upper line is not the bottom of skull (which is much
higher).
Another symptom I have is throat discomfort (often pain) that seems to
start at back of throat.

AIUI an x-ray cannot show Chiari Malformation, you need to have an MRI
scan of your head and neck for a diagnosis. Here's a link to show what
Chiari looks like http://www.conquerchiari.org/Education/MRI.htm. It's
not simply a matter of how low the cerebella tonsils sit but whether
or not they block the flow of CSF.
