Although I mean no disrespect, I must add my opinion! I had the same bullshit, happen to me because of my childhood hyperactivity! I was put on Ritalin when I was only 7 years old, subsequently it did a lot of harm. It made me so violent, that 5 people in the household could not handle me at all the majority of the time. Research later showed that Ritalin can cause detrimental anger problems as well as lead to emotion havoc, even to the point of suicidal tendencies. They don't tell people all about Ritalin because the drug makers, profit off this drug. Just because the drug is out there and all this from from my personal experience. Be careful what a shrink or a school recommends, because half the time it isn't always the explanation that they say it is. In fact, it may be totally different and you would never even suspect why as a parent. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I totally understand your frustration with the "Medical-Industrial- Complex" that treats patients as second-class citizens, and views children as nothing but dollar signs to exploit. Not only is this behavior totally unethical, but the effect on young people's brains is sickening as well as dishearting. We must all put a stop to the "Medical Gulag" that is turning an entire generation into a pack of what one concerned Mother recently wrote, "Mindless Zombies." Ritalin is not addictive when taken as prescribed, though of course it can be abused. However, children whose ADD is not recognized and treated in some way are *more* likely to become drug addicts later on. Perhaps your fearmongering efforts can take credit for some of those. Do try to feel proud of yourself. It's not as though you have anything else going for you. Ritalin has been demonstrably proven to my medical research team that it can lead to harder drugs which can lead to brain- damage and/or death. Those are the facts which cannot and should not be disputed, EVER!! This phony SPIN-drome has led to more suffering that World War 1 and World War 2 combined! It MUST be stopped and it WILL be stopped. More and more parents are finally waking up and just saying NO to the gulag-style force-feeding of addicitve drugs, as well it should be. This is NOT fear-mongering but the cold facts which are backed up by years of honest non-Big Pharma funded analysis and research.
