I saw a patient this morning in the elevator of the hospital where I
work. That person had a very unusual brown complexion.

I am wondering what kind of condition can cause that complexion.
Anybody has ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Severe jaundice can look like a dark tan on a person with normally
fair skin.  Could be liver metastases in a cancer patient.

No doubt there are other causes.

Some primary lung cancers can produce an ACTH-like hormone giving an
Addisonian type of skin coloration
