I purchased a copy of my own X ray.   Does it all look OK.     Click
the flickr link  to see it.

I understand it is, but the doctor only had a quick look, and there
was no written radiology report

Thanks :)

You paid a radiologist to look at and report on the X-Ray. I would get
the radiology report.

Without further info, like your medical history and why the X-ray was
taken, as well as the side view, it is not appropriate to comment on
this X-ray, which is just normal, BTW.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks  for  replying.  The hospital doctor  agreed  to do it at my
request, as I had  a cough for over 6 weeks with no previous history.
No  side view  was taken.   My feeling was that the X ray looked a bit
underexposed.

The  doc said it was normal, but when I received my copy on a CD I
thought it was too cloudy for anyone to be in a position to exclude
things

Having a cough for six weeks is not an indication for an x-ray. I didn't
see anything like a pneumonia or a penny caught in the windpipe. There
was no lateral (side) X-ray done.

Stop worrying. And if you still have a cough, follow-up with your doctor.

While the xray IS underexposed, I agree that it looks normal.
However, an unexplained cough for six weeks is DEFINITELY an
indication for a chest xray.  In fact, it would have been negligent to
not get a film with that history alone.
