Medicines and grapefruit

I know that it is not recommended to drink grapefruit juice when
taking certain medicines, such as certain antidepressants, since
apparently the grapefruit juice blocks metabolism of some meds by the
liver.  However, does the same issue apply, or to the same degree, if
one simply eats grapefruit?  (And especially if one only eats a slice
of two of grapefruit at a time?)

Thanks in advance....

Yes. Eating grapefruit will automatically liberate its juices in the
intestines, where it will depress the activity of CYP3A4, an enzyme
needed for the metabolism of certain medications like
alprazolam(Zanax) midazolam and some other drugs. May be one or two
grapes won't matter much, but I don't think its worth experimenting!
