Sometimes when I use QTips, I will accidentally remove some ear
hair.  I heard that ear hair is important for hearing.  Can this
removal of ear hair by QTips damage one's hearing?

The hairs that you use for hearing are inside your ear, behind (or
inside) your eardrum. Removing the hairs outside the eardrum won't hurt
a thing.

However, the old adage that you should not put anything smaller than
your elbow inside your ears seems to apply here.
