Hi all,

My wife needs to choose a doctor of Obstetrics/Gynecology from a list
for her regular pregnancy check up. We want to choose a doctor whose
office is nearest of my house. However I see her certificate is "Board
Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology" while the certificates of the other
doctors in the list are American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology.

Can you please tell me the difference between two types of
certificates? Which one is better?

Thank you.

This is a pretty good explanation of what board certified means:
http://www.americanhospitals.com/hospitals/boardcertified.htm
They explain better than I can. I know I found the URL after I
tried and failed miserably (grin).

Both are fully licensed physicians in their states and I
haven't seen many indications that board-certification makes more than
marginal differences in outcome.
