Hi
Six years ago I had a tummy tuc done. When going in for my six week check up,
I asked the doctor why my stomach peaked in the middle, while trying to sit
up. It was explain, to me in this manner. As the doctor had reattached my
stomach muscles. I was recommended to excerise and it would go away. For the
next year and a half, I excerised, walking a treadmill, swimming, and doing
sit ups. What began to happen was my stomach got harder and began to extend.
It still peaks while trying to sit up, and when trying to do sit ups it
begins to cramp. Needless to say I stopped those excerises. When lifting
anything or even carrying anything to heavy, what happens is I spend the next
day or so in the bathroom, with very loose stools and nausea. I have seen a
number of doctors, most who tell me nothing is wrong with me, that I am just
fat, one told me I had a man's stomach, what ever that means. The last time I
measured around my stomach over the belly button it was 48inches. My stomach
is hard to the touch and even more so after eating. It hangs down low, so I
am unable to wear a normal pair of pants. I insisted on having a catscan done
and it showed that there is a bellybutton hernia and another one on my right
side. There is also a growth on my adrenail gland, which measures small in
the tests and they have told me not to worry. Cancer is very big in my family
as I have lost my mother and four of her siblings to it. My style of excerise
now is walking. It has been four years since I first went to the doctor and
said what is happening to me and six years since I had the tummy tuc which I
believe caused this whole mess. Can anyone recommend to me what I can do or
where I can go to see someone who maybe able to help me. I live in a northern
community. Thank you, Mizshe

Hello,
I don't get the connection between the loose stools and hernias (or exercise).
Maybe Howard does.

It sounds like you're bloating and they would call that "irritable bowel
syndrome"
When surgeries don't quite turn out, physicians are rather "hand-offish".

Oh, I just realized you're the person who came back from vacation with an itch.
Have you been checked for hepatitis?

What is your age and which cancers did your relatives die of?

Some adrenal situations are mentioned here

Sounds like you should see a doctor of internal medicine, in a different city or
"territory" and take results of your most recent tests (scans, bloodwork), so
he/she can see what has been checked and what hasn't, talk about the family
health history, your risks, your signs and symptoms, and get an opinion.

Hi J

I am 49 years old. My mother died from Ovarian Cancer, 1 aunt and 1 uncle to
Lung Cancer, 1 aunt and 1 cousin to brain Cancer. I have an uncle who has
survived Prostate Cancer and my grandson who survived Whim's Disease, who did
lose one of his kidneys as a result of his illness. One of my aunts died from
Lupus.
You made me think back to when I first had the tummy tuc, within 3 weeks of
the surgery, I was in so much pain, feeling like my guts were twisted. I saw
my chiropractor and he manipulated my stomach, even though it hurt like heck,
when he was done the pain seem to go away and I could stand up. I never
thought about that again, but it makes me wonder if he did something to me
and made it worse. I should have mention that I have a very weak bladder now,
and it appears to get worse for about 10 days each month and then settles
down for a while, during the bad periods I have to wear protection, I cannot
make it to the bathroom in time. It happens during the day as well, but is
worse at night time. When I get pain across my lower back more to the right
side, my stool become loose and more frequent. When I first noticed my
stomach gettin hard and extended I visited my doctor and three months later I
went back and told him that I measured myself and was 38" around and 2 years
later I went back with a measurement of 48" around. He was shocked and sent
me off to see another doctor who did check my Cortisol levels and he said
they were fine. At times my stomach feels so heavy, more like pressure, that
it makes my breathing hard to do. When sleeping I need to sleep elevated,
when I try to lay down flat I have a hard time to breathe.

Thanks, Mizshe
PS The itch is almost gone. What a relief!

Hello mizshe ,
Thank you for answering some of my questions.
I do not know how to help you.  There are surgeries to hold the bladder up but if
there's a heaviness in your abdomen or stomach area, perhaps that has to be corrected
first...

I did find a now abandoned forum where you can read some cases similar (not exactly
everything you told us) to yours.
http://cosmeticsupport.com/forums/
Click on "Body sculpting"
They may have moved over to the new location which is private, so I cannot search
your type of situation. It's listed there as well. Be careful of people trying to
sell you on something you don't want.
But maybe they have tips or a good doctor list for 2nd opinions on problematic
cosmetic surgery of your type.

If you don't find answers there, then perhaps you need to see a different cosmetic
surgeon and ask an opinion about the outcome of your surgery or whether it can be
fixed.
I'm not a doctor and don't know cosmetic surgeons. If you decide you want to go
elsewhere, you' could post here, as well, as to where you wish to go and maybe a
surgeon who posts here might know of someone.
His first name is howard, so if you post such a question, watch for his reply.
Best wishes. I'm sorry I don't know how to help.
J
