Yep, the kitchen sink is in and working. Still more counter stuff to do,
mostly edges.

I went to the doctor's on Monday. Waste of a visit. The doc came in as if
someone had set his pants on fire. He asked how I was doing and of course I
said "fine" and he said "thank god - I needed you to say that". ????????????
He listened to my heart and lungs and then went to feel my leg - ouch! I hit
the microwave the other week and well he said that was a "bone bruise" type
of hematoma (sp?) and they take forever to go away. He gave me so pills to
lower my cholesterol and asked me to please remember to take them this time
so he can check that next time. LOL Guess that means I'm in for some blood
work. I said I hurt and he said take something. Duh!!!!!!!!! I told him
about the aspirin and he said I was probably okay and to take Naprosyn or
something if I didn't want to take the aspirin or alternate between the two.
He also said I needed to see the rheumy. Well, we all know how that went the
last time. End of visit. I don't think he spent a total of 5 minutes with
me. Wonder what burr he had under his saddle?

So today I get to step up - a normal step nothing huge and something in my
knee felt like it just ripped inside. So tonight I'm limping around. I do
hope I sleep it off - I'm talking about a real intense searing pain. And
I've got to climb stairs to go to bed. Here's the deal - it doesn't hurt if
I don't move it. No ache, no throb, - nothing. Move it just right and the
searing pain is back. More aspirin? Not tonight I think I'll just go fix
myself a stiff drink and go to bed.

This is NOT the space person you are looking for but gee Bev, I am happy
you got the sink in.

I totally agree with the doc on everything he told you LOL, so next time
just call me up and I will send you a bill just like he has hahah.  but
honestly?  take the darn cholesterol meds cause it needs to be lower and
meds can surely help that.  Well?  tee hee

If that knee isn't any better, go get an ace wrap and put some ice on the
knee and elevate it, still not better then you probably did pull a ligament
or even popped your knee cap.

Stiff drink sounds like a winner to me

Still having knee problems today. I didn't "shift" the knee cap - BTDT!!

Gee, maybe the next I will call you up and save myself $70. Can you order
the blood work too? LOL

That was interesting. Then tie in the fact that I had a very early
hysterectomy so I have no hormones and that puts an additional drain on the
thyroid as well as increased cholesterol levels.

That's Great about the sink!
I have been lurking around here lately too darn pooped to type!
I have heard from the cardiologist that I work for that with us lupies we
need to keep our cholesterol in check. Also, that we should have a check up
with a cardiologist every so often to check for heart stuff. I had a echo a
few weeks ago. Same old thing with the mitral valve stuff, but I am ok for
now.
I have heard some great things on a new cholesterol med called crestor. It
is supposed have much fewer side effects. So far in our clinic patients that
have been on it for eight weeks have dropped there cholesterol scores
dramatically with no side effects! Even on your 6 mos blood test have shown
no elevated liver enzymes.
I should get a kick back for speaking such good things about this med!
I think I will be around more now that I will be home more. Full time work
just isn't working out for me.
Owwwwieeee....in major flare here dooc gave me large dose of pred. Have you
tried skelaxin?
It is good for muscle pain with out drugging you out.
Take it easy  on that knee.

My medicine arsenal is just about non-existent. Aspirin and Naprosyn is
about all I have. I don't do Tylenol and most of the other OTC stuff has
some weird reactions or really doesn't do a darn thing. I don't like most
pain meds because they just screw around with my brain - sort of a gosh that
really hurts but who gives a darn and why am I in this room? LOL

Hi Bev,

I'm certainly no expert, but it sounds as if you did more than bruise
your knee a while back.  It now sounds as though you have damaged a
ligament.  I hope I'm wrong. :(

I killed the left shin on the microwave and this is the right knee. So
really, now, I have two sore legs. :-(
