Hi Grace,
I saw your post on one of the threads. Now I know you are about and reading
at least. How are you doing? Do you feel well enough to give us an update.

Hi BJ:

Thanks for asking!

Hmm...I definitely feel better than right after the stem cell transplant!

I still have some fatigue...but I'm not quite 3 months into the six-month
recovery. I walk with a limp and my left arm/hand is significantly crippled. I
have resigned myself to writing with my right hand. I am now typing 2-handed,
but it's awkward and slow.

I can only read this with eyedrops, and in certain light. I go for
steroid-induced cataract surgery in Feb.

Next week, I should have results on some lupus-related blood tests:  is it in
remission or could it be gone? I am off all lupus drugs now, including
prednisone.

Next week, I am going for another MRI. We are asking God to show those tumors
have shrunken away...I should have results the following week.

I have too many doctors' appointments. I am doing physio, and am taking a
rehabilitative pilates class with a friend. I make dinner most nights.

I go out occasionally for lunch with friends; I make it out to church and a
ladies' Bible study.

I have done a tiny bit of fiction writing.... Most of all, I try to spend
quality time with my young son...

All the best to you all,

Grace.

Hello Grace,

Thanks for the update!  I do hope the MRI shows shrinkage & the blood
tests are promising.

Sending Hugs & Prayers,
Maggie

Grace it is so good to see you 'talking' with us all again and to
see that you seem to be carrying on with your life again, though
it is still somewhat limited out of necessity!
I for one,  really admire your strength and courage with your
ability to get up and keep on trucking, no matter what has been
dealt to you. You really are a 'mentor' for alot of us here and I
for one am an admirer! 'You rock'!
and I pray that you can keep on going at the speed you are and
better for many years to come spending tons of quality time with
your son and family!
Sending all the best wishes for health and happiness on the wings
of angels!

Shelagh covered all the my thoughts  you !
You and Wes are what real heros are made of , for you better our thoughts ,
your  virtual family.

Grace please do not hire me to write with you . Looking at things backwards
it took me neer 15 min. to get that one line !
I have bought an  I B M  voice software , where you teach it to recognize a
voice and it types on the pc screen " and spell checks "

Me thinks this thingy has got to be quicker than B B B " Backwards , Bruce ,
Browning "school nic name " that is why I left school in grade seven and did
not know that it was medical till age twenty. Training as a paramedic they
gave me xams verbal and I never went below 80% . Till age fifty three , each
year we had full eight hours of exams " pass was 80% to requalify  in order
to  work the next day!

Grace that is a long winded way of saying it may be an avenue for you to
explore , for you have so much to say to others !

Hi Bruce:

I've definitely thought about voice recognition. I may end up upgrading my
computer to go that route... right now, I'm just trying to get the typing
back...

Gee is that the software speaking above?  If so, that's very neat, Bruce.
Do you have trouble reading also?
There's a program that reads text back to you.

Thanks Shelagh:

I do love compliments, but I'm sure you know too that we've got to push
on and make the most of any opportunity. I hope and plan to feel better
in the future, but I don't feel too bad right now...so take the
opportunities I know I have, right?

Thanks for all the support,
Grace.

Hi Grace,
I am so glad that you are making progress. You continue to amaze and
inspire. How wonderful it would be if your lupus was gone forever. I will
pray with you concerning your MRI. There is strength in numbers, and I am
sure there are many others there doing the same. Let us know how you are
coming along, when you feel up to doing so. Take care.
