Hey gang,
In another forum I read about the advantages of consuming Coconut Oil in
your diet. Does anyone know about this?
Sounded too good to be true.

Lots of Hugs,

Hi Paulette,
I have never heard of that. Aren't I a big help? <g>I only dropped by to say
hello to you and ask how you are doing. I haven't talked to you for a while.
I got so far behind on my ng reading that I gave up on a lot of it. Now I am
trying to catch up and see what is happening with everyone.

Here is the perils of Paulette Ethyl Mermaid
1) My doctor has increased my synthroid to 112 mg. I am still not reflecting
the numbers he wants to see.
2) My daughter is getting married in Sept. and she is driving me crazy with
details already and is being very touchy lately.
3) I just attended a meeting at work and they told us they were freezing our
pension plan. Joy, Joy
4) My knees and ankles are talking to me everyday and sometime night.
5) To boost my morale and help me with my creative side since I am a graphic
artist, I am taking a 12-week
course in the "The Artist's Way" Hoping it will help me deal with the
50's as well.
6) Trying to meet a deadline with the catalog at work.
7) Worried about my husband having another run in with his table saw and
scaring me to death! Especially since he is a diabetic.
8) Dealing with a Kerosene heater to keep my greenhouse warmer, not warm
unfortunately. Getting tired of the cold. Ready for Spring now.

The above list is not necessarily in order of importance.

Thats pretty much it. How are you doing?

How are you dealing with weather in Canada?

Bunches of warm hugs,

PEM

Hi P Ethyl,
I loved your list of perils. That brought me right up to date on your news.
I am on 125 mgs of synthroid. I was on 112 as well, but my endocrinologist
changed it about a year and a half ago. My readings improved and he is happy
with that for now. I have been going through a stressful time. My old Golden
( almost 15) got very sick on new year's eve. She is suffering from
vestibular disease. It is a sad condition, I can tell you that. She couldn't
stand at all and had to be carried out for potty duties. I have been more
tired that usual. Perhaps partly because of all the work involved in
Christmas preparations, caring for a sick dog, and the fact that my
hematocrit is low. That along with my chronically low red cells might be
doing it. I have to go for my monthly blood work and B12 today. As for
winter, well I hate it. I must say that we did have a cold snap, but things
have moderated now. There I am, rattling on. My answer is not at all
organized. I believe it reflects my state of mind. I must go. I will be off
to the city shortly. Take care.

It's a common ingredient in soap :)

Hi,
I am not sure about what it is good for except it is good for the skin.
You can use it as a moisturiser, if you heat it a little it goes runny and
you can rub it in. It is supposed to be a tonic for the scalp in
particular, when rubbed in. I eat it in the form of "creamed coconut"
which is a solid block of pure coconut. I add it to my curries and dahls.
As it is solid at room temperature I wonder if it is a saturated fat? If
so it may not be good to consume large amounts. I have also heard that
some brands are much better quality than others. As toxins like pesticides
tend to be highly absorbed into fatty food, and coconut is a fatty food,
it may be worth shelling out extra for organic, if you can get it.
And that's the extent of my knowledge on coconut!
